Activating SP3 - XP Pro

I have downloaded SP3 and am being asked for by Windows 'key'. Dont have one with this machine. Any one have any idea how I get around this. When I phoned the activation number I get automated instructions and not a REAL person.

As you are presented with the telephone activation number, is there not a serial belo

w that?.

It's been a while so I could be wrong , but I thought you input this serial and they gave you a new activation key.
