Activation Key

Hi

My hard drive decided to die but is useable as slave to get documents of.

I am trying to get the activation key of so I can re-install on new drive.

How do I find out the windows 7 key as it is sitting in an external docking station.

I tried free prgrams like key finder etc, but they all look at the machine I am on not the hard drive in the docking station.

built the machine myself and all the documents etc are at my parents house.

must be some utility out there to do the job
