I am a learner - is the Edit Group Policy on a Windows server EXACTLY the same as that found on a Windows Desktop (say Win 7) - so any option that is changed on the Server will be applied to the Desktop at the next update?

By the same I mean are ALL the options and settings in both Group Policy environments identical?

What route are you taking to get to Edit Group. Policy?

Install Group Policy Management on the Server, much easier to manage GPs that way.

If you are going start>run>gpedit.msc on the server it will just be for that server! not all desktops.

Thanks - in the Group Policy Management scenario are both policy trees identical?

It depends what ADM/ADMX files have been installed, and what client you are editing policy from if for some reason you haven't implemented a central store.
