active display port adapter

Its the DVI cable which is either single or dual link, this is to do with the amount of bandwidth it can transmit, DP has much much more than even a dual link DVI cable

There are active DisplayPort to single link DVI adapters and active DisplayPort to dual link DVI adapters.

AMD have a list of adapters here if you have a make and model number.

Another way to tell will be how much it cost.

The single link adapters cost around £20 and the dual link adapters seem to cost in excess of £50.

The vast majority sold will be single link.

I assume that you're still looking at connecting three 120Hz monitors?

Whether or not the adapter is dual link may be a mute point.

The Accell B087B-002B states "This adapter does not support a 120Hz 3-D stereo display" so I'm not sure if it supports 120Hz at all or if it just doesn't support 120Hz 3-D.

If you Google "B087B-002B 120Hz" you'll find posts stating the adapter doesn't work at 120Hz but you'll also find mention of adapters which seem to though these are designed for Apple Computers.
