Active DisplayPort to HDMI adapter?

I recently bought a DisplayPort to HDMI converter for use with my Xbox 360 and discovered that it didn't work. After a bit of searching it appears that my adapter is a passive adapter and what I really need is an active adapter. I've spent quite a while looking for one but have had no luck at all.

Does anyone have suggestions at all?

For the xbox? Is this connecting the xbox to a TV?

No it is connecting the Xbox to my Dell U2711 monitor (the HDMI port on the monitor is already is use).

Don't those adapters convert DP to HDMI, not the other way around?

Not sure if something like this would work: OcUK Value DVI to HDMI Video Adapter

It says DVI to HDMI so perhaps someone can confirm if it does HDMI to DVI.

Good suggestion but that won't work as I need audio as well which only DisplayPort offers (as well as HDMI).

Get an HDMI switch and just use the single HDMI port on the monitor.

Just to update this. I got an HDMI switch and it works perfectly. No loss of quality or anything and comes with a handy remote to switch sources
