Does OcUK have any plans to stock brands such as KRK, Adam, Genelec or similar. There are always threads popping up asking for 2.0 or 2.1 speaker setups, it would be great if we can recommend something like this rather than the usual offerings.

Do you have anything in mind in particular?

The issue with many of these such items is that I won't be buying in QTY's of 100+ which means most of the companies aren't interested in giving me margin or even supplying me.

Since the range we offer above £100 is not fast moving it's hard to justify going further up the scale.

But as always we are interested in suggestions please use the Suggestions section of the forum and we'll look into it.

Adam A5X or KRK Rokit, haven't decided yet.

I don't hesitate recommending whatever is suitable, whether OCUK stock it or not! As long as you don't break the rules and mention competitor name(s)!

I can see where TwsT is coming from, would be hard for OCUK to stock them when the demand isn't there!

Thats because the supply isn't there.:D., I know circles and going around, but these are seemingly popular from reading around the web. Even OcUK direct competitor stocks them so there must be a market....

Not saying demand isn't their and you're right we can't sell what we don't stock but I can't also just go wild.

We'll get this venture into Audio underway and then maybe we can continue further into it.

I've made a list of what would be nice to see..posted it here so others can see/offer opinions

Tannoy reveal 402 / 502
M-Audio Bx5 carbon/Bx6 carbon/Bx8 carbon
Samson resolv SE5/SE6/SE8
Fluid audio F4/F5
Presonus Eris E4.5/E5
Alesis Elevate 3/5
Maybe ESI Aktiv 05/08 (not many reviews) and typical stuff from Yamaha, KRK and the likes but I've tried to be different

we've sold m-audio in the past they are hard to get hold of and weren't popular at all.

and our supplier that used to sell them doesn't anymore.

Yeah the AV40 which had some build problems but aren't bad at all sound wise. Hopefully the others I've mentioned have better distribution

Would hi-fi bookshelf speakers be an option? Not sure how supply etc works as you're the expert but AFAIK only audio sites sell them atm

Thats cos M-Audio are balls mate.

KRK Rokits are pretty much industry standard for electronic producers.

Genelecs are becoming industry standard for post production work.

As for general studio work, Yamaha have the new NS10 replacements (albeit active now). Frankly they don't sound anything like the originals but whatever.

I've got over 15 years experience in this field if you need some help with this stuff Twst and happy to lend a hand if you guys need one.

Understood but I'm under strict instruction to not waste my time trying to compete with a certain competitor. They sunk a lot of money into that section of the market and the returns weren't seen for a while. Whilst now they make lots of money they hired specific staff in that industry to get it right.

The problem we have is these Audio companies like minimum orders and they usually keep a very strict control of the channel.

They know their products will sell without OcUK so they have nothing to gain from working with us.

I'm happy to lookinto Active speakers for hifi and gaming use but Studio I think is a bit too far. So If you have suggestions of speakers that Do a better job that R1600T or Microlabs 8C without breaking the bank I'm all ears.

I'd say for now upper limit would be an MSRP of £199.99 for a pair. I see the stats and I know where most of the money is spent on speakers in this market.

The key issue I have is that I can't meet minimum order QTY's to get the product for a price that allows margin to be made.

Yer ofc man I'm with you and that makes total sense.

A certain competitor...

"Look at all parts of (something) carefully in order to detect some feature."

;)

Good lord, I didn't even know they'd gone into audio until you mentioned it and they seem to have done it in a big way - shows how often I visit the site :D

What about BX5A's? They're relatively popular and not that much more expensive than the AV40's which you had stocked previously. Also KRK Rokit 5's, but they tend to go a little over £200 for a pair.

I tried to keep it under £200 with my suggestions :) Are those £230 Wavemaster speakers any good? Certainly a lot of money for an unknown brand? Studio monitors section could do with some spicing up :p

We understand it's a difficult market and appreciate your ongoing efforts, the expansion of peripherals peripherals being an example

Also on note of KRK Rokit, they tend to over emphasise bass and are too mainstream, sort of like dre beats in the headphone world

Edit: I've updated my list with Alesis Elevate 3/5 these are both under £100, I might buy a pair of the 5" version myself to see if they're any good I know Alesis have delivered great quality and value with their previous offerings such as the M1 Active MK2

That's actually why I recommended them, stuff like the Rokits/BX5A's are popular among casuals/beginners too so they will probably have a better chance of selling to start off with.

You think if OCUK start stocking stuff like ADAM/Genelic/Yamaha monitors they will fly off the shelves?.

Ive been looking at a german company the past couple of days and some of there stuff for pc and laptop looks really good maybe exspensive for some but look really good and you get 8 week test and return
