Hi all,

anyone know of a way to monitor users' activity whilst logged in to Terminal Services on Windows Server 2003?

Bascially, i've been asked to spy on someone who is believed to be abusing the internet during working hours.
Apart from remotely viewing their console at random times throughout the day, i thought there may be a good monitoring tool out there.

Thanks for any help.

A product like Surf Control will show you exactly what everyone is doing on the internet. It's not cheap but it is very powerful

Remember that you are not legally allowed to monitor anybodys activity unless there is some sort of company policy to which they have agreed or you have expressly informed them that they are being monitored.

Other than that, there are various products which can record a terminal services session or simply record what is going on on your screen if you are shadowing their session. Google will point you in the right direction for these. Try http://www.tsfactory.com

The best way is to set up a proxy server, such as Cyblock then you have a log of everything they have viewed and when.

You can also create a whitelist of "allowed" websites so that they cant view anything other than a set of sites that the company deems necessary
