Actor headshots

I've never tried to take any headshots for actors before so with limited lighting and my 40D I gave it a go.

I'd like any technical feedback you can give me as I'm looking into doing this professionally at some point. Thank you

BruceLee - Thank you for the detailed reply. The second picture is a theatrical headshot so you can't smile and tend to be more serious, but I do get what you mean

For lighting I used two office desk lamps and a bedside table lamp as I don't have any studio kit. I had a 430 EX-II Flash on camera which I bounced off a wall behind me.
