ad aware definition update file

Hi guys i'm having problems updating ad-aware, even the site wont let me download core.zip as it is down

if any one has the upto date definition could they give a link please.

malware bytes is one to get!....adaware aint no good nomore imo...

agreed, ad-aware isn't as good as it was a few years ago

spybot is still quite good tho

i think i'v been hit hard, i cannot download updates for most of these apps and spybot i cannot install because it downloads files from the net

check your c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file
(open it in notepad)

It probably contains a huge list of websites such as adaware.com (for example).

Make a backup of it just in case.

The only line you need in there is the one that ties localhost to 127.0.0.1, delete everything except this one (then save it) and you should be able to start updating normally.

tried installing Kaspersky internet security and it crashed my vista....then i had to use the dvd to restore a file. never had a problem since vista 1st came out till today lol

vidda: i checked that file it was clean.

system restore did not work and lame windows defender never finds anything.
