Hey guys

I'm loving my new imac and slowly geting to grips with the os.

I would like to use an ad blocker extension in safari but I'm a bit unsure what to use out of adblock and adblock plus?

Are they both just as good or is one recommended over the other for mac.

Thanks

Is ublock and ublock origin the same thing?

I only got ublock in my safari extension search results.

uBlock was originally one project run by a chap called Gorhill. He later gave up the code base to Chris Aljoudi after various personal pressures, but then resurrected his own personal fork to develop at his own pace. The re-forked version is uBlock Origin and Aljoudi kept the uBlock name. They're quite similar, but Origin doesn't have a Safari release.

traveyb: uBlock is much lighter than AdBlock despite using the same lists. In fact a browser with uBlock uses even less resources than a vanilla browser, let alone a browser also running AdBlock. There are some benchmarks/comparisons on the github page.

Perfect cheers Rainmaker, will take a look today. To be honest I have no performance issues (that I know of) however always up for making things quicker ;)
