ad- hoc networking + gaming

Hi

I have setup an ad-hoc network between mine and my girlfriends laptop. I was just wondering if any has play games over this type of network. Will the game just recognise it as a LAN connection?

I was hoping to play the new Worms game, will this be possible?

yes it should be fine, i used to do this many years ago for command and conquer

yeah it works fine. The problem is when you disconnect the network becomes useless. You have to make a new one because the other computer cant connect properly. Then I couldnt play the game again because "this user name is in use"

I also find it hard to find saved network details, "manage wireless networks" doesnt tell you all the details of networks you computer has connected to. This sometimes causes conflict if you setup a hoc network between 2 computer 50 times.
