Good Day All.

I am trying to find out info related to: Adaptec 2610SA 6-Port SATA PCI-X Card.

From what I have read the cards are made by Adaptec for Dell/HP, but are not supported by Adaptec them self.

I am having grate problems finding any info direct from Adaptec/Dell/HP related to this card.

All I really need to know is what is the lastest ROM version, and will it support 6x 2TB Drives?

And if the card is support in ubuntu 11.04.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.

It's a very old card now.

The maximum array size is 2TB so 6x 2TB drives is out of the question.

Get something newer like an Adaptec 2805, 8 ports, 800MHz onchip CPU, 128MB Cache, great cards.

I thought that would be the case.

It is quite an old server, it only has 64bit PCI-X slots, not PCI-E.

So I am very limited with what I can get for it.

I've got an HP Smart Array P600, works great.

Two things to watch out for are will the card let you create multiple 2TB arrays (pointless with 2TB drives but I've done it with 500 gig ones) and can you boot from the array.

What server is it?
