Adaptive Sync Question

Hi there - total noob question, but I’m looking at this monitor:

Is this going to work with G-Sync? I had thought all of these technologies were interchangeable but this review suggests that it’s not gsync compatible… what’s the deal?

The maximum refresh rate is 160 Hz, both via DisplayPort and HDMI. The monitor supports AMD’s FreeSync Premium adaptive frequency technology, but unfortunately, the MPG 274URF QD is not compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC.

Thanks!

Thanks @Arcane - from looking at videos such as that below, I’m pretty sure it will work but I’ll report back when it arrives.

From what I gather, this used to be a problem back in the day, but they all work now. There’s probably a bleed of repeated misinformation on the topic that confuses people.

Haha know the feeling - will let you know!

This is my productivity / gaming monitor whilst I wait for the 27” 4k OLEDs… I think I’d just find a 1440p OLED a bit annoying if I’m using a 4k monitor for work.

If you’re getting a 50 series card early next year, then I think you might as go 4k. The question is whether you can stomach 32” or not… it’s too big for me personally.
