adaptive v-sync only for 60hz monitors?

Not sure on whether it's limited to 60hz display use or not, but it is possible to get screen tearing while your fps is below the refresh rate anyway.
 
In the nvidia cp one thing I have never been sure to change is the multiple display perfermance mode,I have one gfx card a msi twin frozr 680 and a single 120hz monitor.
 
Screen tear happens on all TVs/Monitors 60hz/120hz it dont matter. If your monitor isn't synchronized with the GPU screen tear will happen.

While screen tear happens on 120hz it isn't has bad has a 60hz display.
