what are some good ads to block, i thought it was going to be auto, but its not!

Just go to the normal websites that are bound to be advert heavy and then put all those in - just put the whole domain in rather than the specific ad - that way you wont have to do it every five minutes.

I found that filterset.g gets 95% of ads. Lets face it, most are google ads anyway.

Once you start adding more URLs, like peoples sigs and stuff it really starts to slow down page loading times.
After a few weeks or a month of using it, go through the filter and sort by the number of hits/pages blocked and deleted the ones that are not getting hits.

Adblock plus is probably *the* best extension EVER

Yep, install that and that will get rid of most of the ads. Then when you are browsing, just remove the remaining ads

no it isn't. even adblockplus tell you not to use it.

The person who makes the adblock plus extension actually recommends people not to use Filterset.G. http://adblockplus.org/en/faq_project#filterset.g

Out of the subscriptions I use all the ones from http://easylist.adblockplus.org/ they are updated very regularly and rarely have any issues and the issues there are, are fixed quickly.

I did have the filterset.g but then I realised that the author of AdblockPlus didn't recommend it so I swapped to the above.

Yup. Tis what I use. LeperousDust sent me a copy of his when I first hooked up to Opera. There are several versions kicking around. The larger they are, the slower Opera is so I use a small, elite, special forces one.
