With a new installation of Windows 7 and using MSE for the first time, I too would appreciate advice on possible adblockers and if people are pairing anti-spyware with an MSE installation.
Yeah briefly read that, but does it actually tell you to block an actual website?

With Adblock you add a subscription e.g. Easylist USA, and it will automatically block any domains within that list, resulting in ads not being shown. If you have others you wish to block on any given page, you can right click it and choose 'Adblock Image' and go from there.
Run, don't walk, to http://www.admuncher.com/ . Admuncher is awesome blocking ads and scripts across the entire system no matter which browser (or combination of browsers) you use. For websites etc use OpenDNS.org

Yeah ive got the Easylist subscription, but ive found I still get a couple of sites that pop up and want to add them to the blocked ones.
Do you open adblock and add the website in there?
Tools > Adblockplus Preferences > Add Filter

Ad-block is for ads. Not websites.
If you want to block a whole website use the hosts file.
Or use this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4364
And add the following rule "google.co.uk##HTML". replace google.co.uk with the URL you want to block.
