I sometimes see people saying they would switch to Opera if it had proper adblocking, like Chrome or FF. Well, it does.
Go here:
http://www.fanboy.co.nz/adblock/opera/
Download either of the urlfilter.ini files you want.
Save it here:
C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera\
Enjoy no ads. You don't even have to change any settings.
Furthermore, if you want to remove the white space where an Ad would have been, get the Optimised Element Filter too and follow the instructions:
Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced Tab -> Content -> Style Options Button
Browse to your Opera profile directory and select "fanboy-adblock-elements.css"
I installed it. I haven't had a YouTube ad, a flash banner or a static image ever since. It's that simple.
To prove it, take a look at the top right of this forum. Alternatively, try watching this (slight How I Met Your Mother spoiler) video without a 30 second advert before the video plays.
