As per title - I've got an ADC cinema display and an 'Apple DVI to ADC' adapter.

If I get a 'DVI-I Female to VGA Male Adapter Convertor' - will this allow the Cinema display to work Ok on a PC with a VGA graphics card?

No. That cable is for going the other way (from DVI-I to VGA, DVI-I means it also has analogue in the signal). You'll need a pretty expensive converter to go from VGA to DVI.

Is that not what i need though? The apple cable has a DVI connector on the end. The adaptor has the DVI input and outputs to VGA which connects to the GFX card on my PC?

The advert specifically states

'Connects any DVI flat panel monitor with DVI male to any computer with VGA port. The DVI port must have DVI-I in order to work with VGA. (Connectors: HD15 Male to DVI Female)'

Thats definately the wrong thing?

You worded it the other way around originally.

It depends if the DVI port on the Apple box is DVI-I.

ah ok, my bad :p

I'll give it a try, the adaptor is only a fiver. If not i'll just get a cheapo DVI card for my sisters PC.
