Add another 8800GTX or wait for 9800?

How is SLI in 64Vista now? Not overly impressed with 9800 series and I've always fancied trying SLI. Xmas bonus burning a hole and it is so so tempting right now.

I would go for it, the 9800 isn't really shaping up to be a huge upgrade and you're gonna have an extremely fast system anyway :)

Wait for God's sake. Your money will go a lot further in a few weeks. GTX prices should come down nicely if you don't go for the 9800 card (and why not? It will be the new performance king).

how can you say you're not overly impressed with the 9800 series. they arent out yet, nor are there any leaked benchmarks of any kind

Well by all accounts the 9800GTX won't really be impressive, it'll have the same amount of shaders which really is the key to performance.

I'd go for it also, if the new 9800 turns out to be better you'll be able to auction off you old two for the price of one 9800 im sure.

Yeh, I suppose I could just sell them. I was waiting to see the 9800 specs long before we got them and when they were revealed I wasn't blown away. It's abit preemptive to say I'm dissapointed I suppose but I still get that niggling feeling.

General SLI performance in vista these days?
two 880GTX vs one 9800 estimations?

Wait, then get a 2nd 8800 GTX when the prices fall, the 9800 GX2 is only 2 GTS's, so 2x 8800 GTX's in SLi will be faster/better at higher res.
