Add Rad or Swap Rad

Hi All,

I currently have a 240Rad cooling a 2700K & ATI 6950(flashed to 6970) I know I need a larger Rad. I am curious to find out if I would be better swapping the 240 for a 360 or adding the 360 to the loop and keeping the 240 in situ? Will I see much cooling difference between the 2 options?

Have a look on, i think it is, skinnee's website. Has a calculator.

I think you'll find that you're not limited by radiator dissipation but more heat transfer. Do the rads/pipes get hot?

But if you've space for the rad why wouldn't you.

Adding the 360 rad will increase your thermal maximum, and hence thermal performance. I say add rad =] As for noticable differences, you should notice a few degrees difference from normal use, but if you're running IBT and some sort of graphics test at the same time the load differences should be considerable.

Being a very big Noob when it comes to Watercooling I greatly appreciate all the advice given, so thanks to all.

Since adding the Full gpu block to the loop I have noticed a large increase in temps idle now is approx 30°-34°C but that is the 2700k O/C @ 5ghz 1.4v(27°-31°idle)(55°-61°Full Load) & Powercolor HD6950 @ 940 + 1420(30°Idle)(34.5°Full Load).

I had planned to swap the 240 with the 360 in the roof of the HAF X case and place the 240 outside at the rear as there is no room in the case as the pictures show in my other thread:

I have also been looking at adding a kill coil and Mayhems Aurora Blue. question is do I need the kill coil with this coolant? I currently use the standard EK coolant that came with the EK HF240 Kit without the kill coil as I was aware that this coolant has inbuilt biocide, I think:confused:

Any further thoughts or suggestions welcome

Cheers:cool:

TBH i'd swap to the 360, see if your temps on the cpu actually go up much.

If not then you can sell the 240 and make a bit of money back.

Your load temps look great, don't worry about the idle. You just have a high T delta. If you switch rads this will lower, and theoretically the load temps will lower too, but by how much exactly I'm not sure.
