Hi all,

I need a bit of advice with my NAS box. I've just moved into a new house and it's not really possible to run a network cable from my router to where my NAS box needs to go.

What's the best way to connect my NAS box wirelessly? I want to maintain reasonable performance (bear in mind it tops out at 10MB/sec over a gigabit network connection).

I've seen on the website (it's a QNAP 210) that it can work with USB WiFi adapters, but the compatibility list if very short and I'd want a nice wireless-n adapter. Am I right in thinking that in general you set up the USB adapter on a normal PC with a web client then unplug and plug into the NAS where it will remember the wireless settings?

If that isn't a good route to follow, what other options have I got?

Would something like a devolo be possible? I use them and find the performance to be excellent. I run the 200mbps (there are faster ones now.. 500mbps) ethernet and wifi model. It comes with 3 ethernet ports and switchable wifi. I have tried wifi with nas and found the performance to be insufficient for system backups and high quality streaming.

Thanks. Can I double check, you're saying they offer INsufficient performance for high-quality streaming?
