Can anyone help as im hopeless with this stuff. I bought a TP Link TL-SG605E 5 port unmanaged easy switch and now i cant download anything from DC+. I dont use this for piracy i might add just old comics. I think its a port thing? if i plug the ethernet cable directly into my Virgin media hub 5 it works fine, however now ive added the switch to the hub it now blocks dc++ how can i fix this?

Sorry its an Managed switch! doh. Yes it works absolutely fine apart from in DC++ just get message saying port mapping failed? but if i plug the ethernet cable directly into router its fine. But i need it to work when plugged into the switch. Ive got a another 2.5gig switch coming i hope it wont be the same problem.

That's not unmanaged - it's a smart switch with a webpage, so I'd find it's IP and then login and take a look what options can be changed

I'd hazard a guess that it may be the IGMP snooping that they advertise being an issue (generally I've only known it to be needed for things like TV over IP - the likes of the old BT Vision)
I seen that yes thanks ill see if i can disable it.

No that didn't help. But thanks. Might be a coincidence this has happened since I got the switch, I was using on Wi-Fi before with zero problems. However I just tried unplugging the Ethernet and using Wi-Fi and lo and behold same problem on DC++ so I don't know now.

I've managed to set it up in DC++ using WAN/IP address and other settings and I've set up port forward g in VM hub 5. I don't get any error messages in the DC++ log now however when I click on a user to see files it just times out. So I'm almost there. I think it's the ports, I'll persevere. Thanks KIA.
