Hi all,

PSU is an Antec TruePower New Modular 550W

I recently got two 15 LED strips (30cm each), and today I bought two USB powered, 5 LED lights that I have plugged in the back of the monitors, shining on the wall, I think it looks good, will post a pic when I get a chance

Just wanted to know, I'm sure it will be, but is my PSU OK for all of this? Best to be safe

Do the new USB LED's use the computers power? Or the screens? As the screen USB ports are connected to the computers ones by one downstream wire

Thanks :)

EDIT: The LED strips are connected to the PSU

Hi there!

LEDs use very little power, your PSU will be fine :)

As for where the power comes from for the monitor USB ports I don't know, my guess would be from the PC. Do they get power when the PC is off?

with the spec in your sig and the extra lights, your psu will be fine.

Thanks for both your replies. I assumed it was ok but best to be on the safe side, lol :D

With the feature of the motherboard that allows me to charge ipods etc with the PC off, with that feature turned on, then when I turn the PC off and leave screens in standby, the lights stay on lol

So I turned that feature off, so when screens are in standby, and PC is off, lights are also off

I usually turn the screens fully off anyway at night

Not bad at all for £2 :D

You can power 4-20 LEDs (depending on how they are wired and colour) per single watt of power. Ive had over 70 LEDs in my case at one time and it only added 8 Watts to my power draw.

For a moment there I thought I was looking at a couple 40" TV's & laminate flooring :D like the effect something for me to look into doing I think.

Thanks for all the comments guys :D

...and for those of you asking about the stand, there is no stand lol, they're actually wall mounted, and what you can see is my wallet and watches on my desk, and a piece of trunking on the wall, making it look like a stand as the picture isn't great lol

Thanks for the info about it not using much power too :D
