Addicted to Coca Cola...

The best drink in the world is Ice Cold Coca-Cola from a glass bottle. Mmmmm.

Didnt we have a poll providing conclusive evidence of this a while back...

pffft . enjoying something is not an addiction

It is when its all you enjoy though...

As most people I was terrible at drinking coke, till I was 18 it was at about 8 litres a week, maybe more depending on how much I was in 6th form (less school made more coke). By going to uni in first year I pretty much went cold turkey on it, the odd drink now and then but I had to spend most my loan on drink!

This did my health some good (when the drinking wound down a little) but since then iv found my addiction to be more manageable. Still have a can or two every day, but I cant realistically have more than 3 ever as I just cant sleep or relax. It would be a lot better if the most I could manage was one at most a day, but there's something about the taste that just is too amazing for words...

Anyway top tip to balance happyness, money and health, drink in moderation and dont force your self not to have one when you have a real urge, unless your completely giving up as that's only obtainable though completely cutting it out :(

From May to September the only drink I had was Coke. I then went cold turkey for a month in my first month in Canada and lost no weight and didn't feel much better either. I was generally eating healthier at that time and for drinks had lots of water and fruit juices. I didn't explicitly go out to not drink it but in the heat it didn't help. I was so sure I'd lose even a little bit of weight but nothing. :(

Fruit juice has about the same amount of sugar in it as cola. Eating healthier doesn't mean losing weight, it is about cals in vs out. Unless by healthier you mean less calories?

wow Im pretty glad i dont have an addictive personality :P

Correct, no one likes to meet you more than once! :D:p

I don't mind cola... but never liked it thattt much. Recently I barely drink it... maybe once or twice in the last year. I just think of how much sugar / bad things are in it and it puts me right off! :p

I do, was eating less crap and more good stuff, was actually getting up for breakfast in the mornings and having sandwiches and the like for lunch in place of pot noodles. :p

I've never found anything more refreshing than a glass of cold water!

For those that say water isn't more refreshing that cola, it's probably because you have a sugar coating in your mouth blocking out some of the refreshingly goodness!

I'd recommend drinking water, and lot's of it until your pee runs clear. Then you know you have enough water in your system to keep you hydrated.

ROFL! I remember Soda Stream! It was so expensive to buy the gas cylinders and the stuff it produced was never as good as the normal branded stuff.

The only appeal was the novelty of making your own fizzy juice :p

I do like fizzy drinks - no denying it.
However I simply will not drink anything with sugars in.
So I only drink stuff like:

Coke Zero
Pepsi Max
7up Free
Sprite Zero
Fresca
Diet Mountain Dew

I used to have a problem with diet drinks - that horrible strong saccharin aftertaste.
But most good diet drinks, even the supermarket own brands have done away with this now.

I'm also a big fan of squashes - lime and lemon squash when icy cold is so refreshing.

But nothing with tons of sugar in - how people drink the like of Red Coke, Pepsi, Sprite etc I just don't know.
A can contains something like 40% of your daily sugars!

i drink 3-4 pints of diet pepsi at work a day and 2l bottle of coke zero when im at home
so nearly 4 litres a day here

it used to be full fat coke but now that makes me feel sickly
