i have win7 64 bit installed, but i have come into ownership of a few old games that wont install on 64 bit os'.(currently trying to install bladerunner to no avail) have looked into Vm's etc to install them but to be honest i don't really understand VM's!!

was thinking, if i got a second hdd(looked at adding a partition to my existing drive but again got confused!!) and installed the 32 bit version of win7 onto it, when i boot the pc would i simply get the option of picking which os to boot from? thus hopefully letting me install my old skool games onto it

Just select the os you want to boot into :] Im not sure if it will clearly display 32/64 bit though so you may have to trial and error a bit with which drive is which on that screen but it should work fine.

Adding a partition to your drive would be MUCH, much easier and more likely to work though and its so easy with windows 7. If you need a hand with creating a partition just say as i've recently done it with Ubuntu onto W7 using no external software.

mikey, cheers for the offer of help mate. do i just go into disk management and right click on the 'c' drive and select 'shrink volume'? if i, say, shrink the volume by 100gb will this be the size of the partition, onto which i can install win7 32 bit?
