I have been looking in to getting a graphics and was thinking of this GeForce GTX 465 1024MB LINKY, before any 1 says I know I need to upgrade my PSU. so is it any use. I already have GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 intergrated. I am running 2 AMD ATHLON II X2 215 PROCESSOR.

also I am not going to buy ATI as the girlfriends laptop has it and would not work well with some of my games. Direct 10 games I mean.

so any help you all give would be great :D

LINKYis the PSU I am looking at.
the one I have is oem 320V and is from HP

also you are lucky as the price of them over here is nearly €300

right, so that will run the graphic card no problem????

also is everything else ok or do I need to add anything???? anymore infoo you need???

Aye, that will definitely run that GPU without issue.

The only thing that you will need to check is the size in the case available for the graphics card. The GTX 460 is 8.25 inches long and is two PCI slots wide.

would this be plenty of room???? its not the best but does the work I need

so what sort of direct 11 graphic card could I put there then????? it has to be at least 1gb as I have Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War II and recomends 1gb

But your CPU might bottleneck the GTX 460. Also, just because the built in ATi in your girlfriend's laptop is rubbish, doesn't mean the whole brand is bad for gaming. It's a bit silly to jugde it from that. If you have overclocked your CPU, then go for the GTX 460. If it's on stock speeds, best get a HD Radeon 5770.
I have Dawn of War II as well, and I can play on max details on a 1920x1080 no problem with my 5770.

her graphics card is better than mine, so explain why I am able to play all of her sims games with a lesser graphics card???? I dont know why but can

lets put it this way, its sony and I had an f serious and notting but trouble :(
I will find out and let you Sunday as I have no idea
