Hi folks

I've just bought Flock! from Gamefly from the princely sum of £1.40, looks really fun but I've just noticed after downloading that there isn't a Steam key (which I assumed there was as it's available on Steam).

Is there any way of adding it to Steam and activating the achievements/multiplayer (this version uses Gamespy) or is that not possible?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, what's the difference between Steamworks and Steam titles then?

I've never used the 'add a non-steam game to my library' before, what is that for then?

Steamworks are games that are exclusive to Steam and can't be found on Origin/Uplay, kind of like how certain games are exclusive to say PS3 and not Xbox. The advantages of that are that you can buy a steamworks title from any site or retailer and know it will 100% work on Steam and include achievements, so it lets steamaholics shop around for good deals. It also uses Valve's integrated community and servers to host any multiplayer/coop/leaderboard features, but you'll soon find that is the least important aspect to most people. :D

Steam titles are games you buy on Steam that aren't steamworks, meaning that they may use different servers and sometimes additional clients like a lot of Ubisofts games. These often include Steam achievements though but not always, and most of the gamecodes you buy outside of Steam for the same titles will not work on Steam. Meaning that you may buy a copy of Max Payne 3 for example from your local shop, but you won't get Steam features other than the basic overlay from 'adding a non-Steam game', whereas the version of Max Payne 3 from Steam itself will have most of the features included. It's sort of an incentive to purchase from Steam rather than anywhere else.

blah blah blah yawn yawn

Last seen on Steam 7 days ago, wasssuppppppppppppppppppppp?

Steam also needs an option for achievement noise, now I know many don't like this but also many do so an option to turn noise on/off would be awesome.

You can add it to steam to get the overlay / let friends know your playing it but sadly no achievements.
