Hi there,

I am trying to add a Scheduled Task to switch my PC off every nite, but i dunno why i am getting such a error as you can see in the screen shoot.

The steps i am doing to add a Scheduled Tasks, are fallowing.

Programs- Accessories -Scheduled Tasks - Add Scheduled Task - Next
Browse
Type C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe
Set the task frequency (daily, weekly etc.)
Enter your username and password for the task ( is that a new pw ? I tried to add a simple pw and i tried it without a pw, still getting the same error. )

Why it aint working? is there a good reason for this or maybe some one knows a good free software which could help me.

All i want to do is add a Scheduled Task to my PC which would switch if off every night.

Any help would be highly appreciated, just adding that i am on XP how you can see it on ss.

Ta,

Vairo

Right on both counts. It's 'shutdown /s', and you need to have a Windows password for scheduled tasks to run. That's the password you need to enter.
