Adding a Subwoofer to a 2.0 setup?

Currently got a NAD C320BEE driving a pair of Tannoy F2s.

We quite often have parties and have the volume very loud. However the bass is slightly disappointing at higher volumes and it would be great to add some real oomph to the setup.

The Question: Can you buy Subwoofers which do not require an amp to be driven. I.e. can you simply attach a device to them via Phono input? Is this a stupid idea, am I better of selling the Tannoys and buying some speakers with more bass drivers? Considering Q ACOUSTICS 1050s.

NB: We're not overly concerned about quality here, we just want it to be ridiculously loud/bassy when turned up.
Cheers

Plan to spend about £100 on the sub. The NAD has Pre Out and Main In phono sockets which are currently linked together.

For your latter option, how would I then connect the F2s given the NAD wouldn't output sound via the speaker outputs if in preamp mode?

Cheers

Looked at the Wharfedale SW150:

Will that integrate into my setup, or is it missing a vital connection?
