Yup, you read correctly, I'm planning on adding a third monitor to my rig :D
Call it overkill, call it whatever you like, the long and short of it is that I have simply ran out of space on my E196FP and my Hyundai B71A (ignore the Sig, it needs updating :p).

I currently have my E196FP positioned in front of me (biggest monitor so use for games) and the B71A positioned to the left of the E196FP.

My plan is to get One of these to run a second B71A which will be positioned to the right of the E196FP.
Does this sound right to you guys? Have I forgotten something and am heading for a disaster? Any comments?

Cheers

Its the X300 in the clearance section :)

Your biggest problem is going to be setting it up nicely with the ATI drivers.
Never managed to get them to support making anything other than the far left monitor primary.
I found the Nvidia drivers were much better in this area, although I havent used ATi drivers since 5.10

I imagine Ultramon would sort this out, but havent tried myself.

Bump!

Has anyone accomplished this successfully? I've been told by a couple of people that its a nightmare to get set up properly.

I'm already using ultramon, would this allow all 3 monitors to work as I've described?

Cheers

check the ultramon forums, help solve a lot of problems!
Not sure if you need 2 graphics cards or if you can split one of the dvi/vga ports for 2 screens, this might limit you to copying what is on the other screen, not sure!

Thanks tsinc80697, I've looked at the ultramon forums and there seem to be a fair few people who have pulled this off.

Your suggestion of getting a DVI/VGA splitter was interesting, but the X300 card is only £12 and I've already got omega drivers installed for my X800XT so fingers crossed everything will work fine!

Will probably be ordering all of the parts tonight so I'll let you all know how I get on.
