Adding a Vista pc to a xp network?

my friend has just brought a new dell lappy with vista on, she has a home pc with a shared printer and drives running xp.

she asked me to come round and add it....... never used vista before, can anyone point me in the right direction?

There is nothing fundamentally different about accessing shares between XP and Vista. Installing the printer on the laptop might be a case of getting the right drives for the printer from the manufacturer but thats about it...
