Hey OverclockersUK,

Been lurking here a while reading various threads, very entertaining. :D

Anyway, I've been scouting out possible upgrades for my computer. Looking at RAM I have 2x4gb Kingston HyperX sticks already - just wondering if these are the same product? I checked with CPU-Z and noticed the timings are slightly off, with 11-11-11-28 rather than 10-10-10-28. Is that a problem? Will I need to change some settings somewhere or is it just plug and play?

Thanks in advance :)

Check the SPD tab in CPU-Z, this should give you the full part number for your existing RAM. You can then use that to search for more of the same. Technically you can mix RAM with different timings and all sticks will run at the loosest common timings, but it's less problematic if all fours sticks are matched.

Edit: The timing of your current RAM also look like the JEDEC standard, so it may be possible for it to run 10-10-10-28 using an XMP profile - again the SPD tab will give you this detail.
