Has anyone done this?

I found out today that it's fairly easy to add cruise control to my 08 Focus. I always wanted CC, but couldn't find a car that ticked every single box - I think my current car has everything I need, apart from CC.

Apparently most mk2 Focii have the switches etc all in place - the only thing it needs are the buttons, and activation via Ford garage or dongle.

Anyone any experience or success stories?

Piece of cake on the VAG group cars as far as any I've come across - not sure about the focus... but the same applies! Fit stalk, code with vcds, done!

You will likely be able to do it yourself with en ELM dongle for a laptop. I know it could not be retrofitted to an 07 mondeo, luckily its standard on my MK4.

Check the TalkFord forums / wiki, it will all be in there with part numbers etc.

Great news. I'm wondering if there's anywhere I can pay to get the basic work done - the fitting of the buttons (either stalk or between steering wheel arms), the ELM thing etc

You'd need the steering wheel replacing if its a multi function wheel, so your best bet is probably the stalk. You can't easily add buttons to a non mfsw.

It's seemingly possible on my car, which is great news, I just don't have the tools up here or the space to do it! Can't find any mention online of a garage that would have a go...
