Hi guys,

How would i go about adding additional drivers to an XP disk, RAID drivers etc?

I've copied all the contents from the XP disk into a new folder on my comp, and i have the drivers i wantadding to the disk, then i was going to burn it once i had added the new drivers.

But were abouts do i put the new drivers? I'm used to the old /System32/Drivers folder but it's not like that in the contents of the disk lol

Any help would be much appriciated, ASAP if possible

( Keep getting BSOD and need to re-build windows, but need the RAID drivers! )

If you do go the DriverPack route make sure you turn off the driver signing policy in your unattended script otherwise it'll ask for verification to install every driver.

The steps that I used for mine were:

Slipstream Windows XP with Service Pack 2 using Nero
Integrate the hotfixes from RyanVM's hotfix pack (with addons like WMP10)
Add DriverPack
Use unattended script for options

A better guide is available at http://unattended.msfn.org :)

Thanks guys! :D

I've managed to get the drivers into the XP disk, when running the installation the drivers do show that they are loading at the bottom of the screen, at the start of setup.

But a few steps on, i get "Windows cannot find any hard drives"

I'll play with it a bit and i should be able to fix it :p

Just curious.... have you tried pressing F6 as XP runs setup (when it asks you if you need to use additional drivers), then installing the drivers with a floppy drive?

XP died on me recently and i dont have a floppy drive, borrowed someone elses drive, then discovered XP SP2 has sata/raid drivers on it :p

Maybe you could add SP2 to your XP disk if your having problems adding the drivers, unless you already have an XP SP2 disk that is

only thing is, floppy drives are retarded! -along with the backwards xp installation!

-edit
sp2 only contains some sata drivers, not all!

The disk has SP2 on it already, but didn't have the drivers i needed.

I also don't have an internal floppy drive, the F6 option during XP set-up doesn't like my USB floppy drive

Any way I managed, only thing is evan after i've re-installed windows i'm still getting the BSOD *sigh*

Ive just had a thought! This may or may not help but,

I can't remember exactly whether it was when my computer was set up using RAID or when it was when i got my first SATA drives, but i had a lot of problems after successfully installing windows, then on the reboot i would get a BSOD.

They are two things you can try:

1) Update your bios - for me there was i bug in my original bios which caused my BSOD - Innaccessible Boot Device or something

2) Leave the XP disk in the drive when you try to boot windows - has helped me in the past.
