Adding FM 2010 to Steam

Noticed that the retail version of this is now at a 'reasonable' price and also that here it says that FM keys in the format '1AB2CD3FGH456I7JK8LMNOP9Q' can be added to Steam.

Has anyone done this, and was it just a plain, vanilla retail FM that you added?

My mate bought his version from a supermarket and added it to steam no problem. When you are installing it you get the option to install via steam or normal method.

Yeah as dovey says its pretty easy. The installer asks you how you want to install it. With Steam you don't need the DVD and you get updates/patches automatically (YOU MUSTN'T DOWNLOAD THE PATCHES MANUALLY UNLESS YOU WISH TO FUBAR YOUR INSTALL!) and the normal method means you need the DVD in when you play FM and you'll have to download the patches and install yourself.

I've gone for the Steam method myself. It means I don't lose a DVD drive to having the FM disc in constantly and I get the patches quicker than with the manual system.
