Ok so basically i want to send some money to someone and my paypal account is currently empty...so does the money come straight out of my bank account or? i am asking because when i go to 'Add Funds' it says it takes 5-7 days? Does that just apply to adding money to account or also to using the 'Send Money'?
Thanks

Adding funds always takes 5-7 days and is rather pointless.

As long as you have your bank/debit card confirmed on the site it should be fine.

can't remember if its Add or Remove Bank account or Add or Remove Card.

i think its the second one

My status on my account says Verified so im assuming this means card is as well? If so that means the money will go instantly?
Ok my bank account is confirmed my card is not..where do i go from here?

Verified is for everyone whether you have a card or not ;)

I would just try and send a few pence over to someone :P...

Seek-So thats if something goes wrong i can get my money back?
And Oli so with my bank account confirmed but my credit card not.....will it work or will it take like 5-7 days?

Well if your sending it to someone via paypal it doesn't always mean you can get money back.
If its a gift of course not. if its a normal selling payment - maybe. Though if you sent money to someone money not as a 'gift' Money would be taken of from them so.

Can't help you there! I just know the account's i've used the credit card is confirmed and it works instantly.
(the bank card details are in the credit card part. I guess it works as its debit..)
As i said just try send £0.01 to someone and see if it goes through as an e-cheque what takes 7-8 days or something.

Though im quite sure it will work.

EDIT: Seems like i got what i said wrong before. It appears that the bank been confirmed and the credit card bit not it still works so.

Yeh its a 'Gift' payment....oh i thought you could get the money back?
How much a normal payment for something worth £60?
And ok im just trying it out now with a mate....
Ok just tried it out and i inputed the 0.01 chose goods then it told me it will take 5-7 days....so i think i have to link my credit card then it will go straight through?

Well a gift does mean gift so. If your giving £100 to a mate for his bday. It would be harsh to take £10 off. And it wouldn't make sence to reclaim money back from your mate hehe

I guess that should work if you do the credit card thing, will take a couple of days proberly though. Sorry can't help much- just going on the info from my account.

Well if an item is sold on eBay IIRC they take 10-13% off

Have a look at https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-receiving-fees-outside makes it seem like it's 3.5% there.
Would have a look around but on itouch so it's not the easiest!

ok thanks mate, Well its for something off here actually so i was just wondering and not wanting to make the fella wait 5-7 days for an echeque to go through.
I think i will add my card tomorrow then just try 0.01 to someone and if its instant continue with my intended use.

You have to wait 2-3 days when you set your card up, as they will take two small amount and have you verify them.

So if i verify my card tonight taking 2-3 days then i can immediatly pay for my item and i will not have to wait like a week for the payment to clear?

I just did this myself as i got my new card.
It seems like the credit card thing is useless and maybe a back up funding.

i added my natwest debit card under the credit card option anyway then it said about adding a bank card. so i clicked that. Typed in the details (sort code, account number etc. Clicked ok and had to type in my banks address.)

So they take out 2 small payments (should take 2-3 WORKING days) so if you do it today it should be done by Tuesday at the latest i think.

And then you can pay instantly.

Ok so i have just linked a card to my account and it says 2-3 days....now the card i have used is different to the one which is one sent up in my bank account section...that make a difference?
