Using the above set-up I have purchased Identical RAM current and working is 2x4g Corsair 1600 RAM. After putting in all sticks the boot loop begins on power-up.

Tested old pair in slots 1/3 2/4 etc so neither the slots are broken and performed identical tests with both sets of RAM and combo's of both so all slots and RAM work individually and paired 2/3 etc all tested.
Removed graphics cards and tested with onboard to eliminate PSU being too low and still same results.

As soon as i plug in another stick upping to 3x4G it boot loops
BIOS is up to date also.

I'm at a loss why this is not working. Anyone have an idea?
 
Probably need to increase the VTT and IMC voltages a little with all 4 RAM slots populated - not sure what the defaults are and/or normal range for 77 chipsets off the top of my head but usually you need to bump em up to atleast 1.05v with larger amounts of RAM (double check though as I don't know the voltage range for that board).

would this be required even with a test of Graphics card being removes as I were aware that the system would reroute power unless they are designed to cap it unless specified.
 
adding in a gpu wont cause any issues,it only reserves 128bit for onboard igpu

make sure you have latest bios also
 
have you tried installing two sticks and manually setting cpu/vtt voltage to 1.15v,save/exit and install the other two sticks so 4 in total then see if its stable

also manually set dram voltage to 1.65v

From the above it would appear as if the RAM sticks are Identical minor details on the chip itself.

The old chip has D0-D7 along the top
The new chip has U0-U7 along the top and seems to also have more metal pins above the connectors
 
They could be different according to that then,different revisions? Idk

All you could do is either use just 8gb or return both kits for a matching 16gb kit
