Most of the moderators from the shop seemed to disagree with the idea according to previous posts ( not 5UB though

), so I don't think this is going to happen unfortunately

Edit: Just to clarify, they seemed to disagree with the idea of new avatars, not the poll.

why cant we have our own avatars? is there a reason why we all have basicaly the same ones?

personaly i link a username to an avatar, on other forums, this makes it much easier to follow threads, and look out for interesting posters.

not only our own avatars, but animated ones to, under say 60kb in size

I used to own a forum and the amount of space used for avatars was absolutely insane after we reached a large amount of members. This in turn cost a lot of money in bandwidth fees, hence the reason I removed the feature.

I own a forum and allow users to have their own avatars, provided they be externally hosted, solves the problem pretty easily.

Though I don't feel we should allow custom avatars, the moronic side to them would ruin OcUK's family friendly but professional atmosphere.

To be fair, this rules isn't really enforced besides actual content (as in pictures or video's), there are a lot of threads with replies that aren't deemed family friendly and even when flagged nothing is done.

An easier way round this would be the usual, no posting porn / offensive material and have a no swearing policy.
