I liked your sentence beginning with "Comparatively,"

I might use that later.

Anyway, the avatars - all of them - are terrifyingly redundant and meaningless. An avatar is supposed to be an approximation or extension or pictorial representation of oneself yet we all look the same. It makes little sense.

So, I've said my thing (again) and it'll be ignored (again) so I'm out :)

Nobody's getting sniffy, or at least I missed those posts if they did. Surely the reason why the use of fictional characters has been suggested is because they have never actually harmed anyone. Besides, it seems incongruous to have John Gotti presiding over a set of forums which (as we are reminded regularly) are 'family friendly'.

But the pretend gangsters in their movies DID harm people.

How is that family friendly?

Think of it like a school uniform. It's there to prevent status building, but all the cool kids have their tie a bit loose with the top button undone so you know they're the cool kids. If you were cool enough you'd realise that and loosen your tie. Nerd. :p

If black and white pictures of fictional gangsters is not family friendly enough for them, they shouldn't have access to the internet at all tbh. Plus if they're that wrapped up in cotton wool then they wont have ever seen any of these 18 rated films, so they shouldn't even know who they are or what films they're from.
