At the moment I'm running an ASUS P7P55D with an Intel I5 750mhz processor, nothing overclocked.
The memory I have fitted is Geil PC3-17000 2133MHz C9 ULTRA DUAL CHANNEL. (2 X 2gb sticks).
DDR3 2133MHz CAS9 Dual Channel
- Available in 4GB(2GBx2) Dual Channel Package
- Available CAS: 9-9-9-28
- 240 pin, Non-ECC, Un-buffered DIMM
- Working Voltage 1.65V
- Neo-Metallic-Blue Aluminum Heat Spreader
- DBT (Die-hard Burn-in Technology) Enhanced
I'm looking to double the RAM to 8gb but it does n't seem like you can get this memory spec anymore. Was looking at another 2 sticks to use the other dual channel.
If I'm not overclocking the system is it really crucial to get exact matching timing ram? Would I need to get PC3-17000 or could I pair it with something a bit lower?
