Hi All,
Hope this is in the right place. I have a fairly old computer and wanted to add a little more DDR3 ram as I find I am quickly making out my current 8gb when I open browser tabs plus a game.
I got some second-hand ram off eBay, I usually wouldn't do this but as I intend to do a complete new build later this year I just need something to tide me over until then. So, the ram comes today, well packed but wrapped bare in polystyrene with tape, no anti static bag or anything.
So I have put this ram (2x4gb hyperx 1600mhz) in the computer next to my current 2x4gb hyperx (1600) sticks and the computer just starts beeping at me when I turn it on and won't post anything to the screen.
My impression is that the sticks are dead but I just want to check before I ask for a refund on eBay.
Would people agree with me or is there any other way I check to confirm they are dead?
Thanks for any advice you can give.
