Adding parents on own policy

I recently took out a policy on my Focus with Direct Line fully comprehensive, ive heard adding my parents to the policy as named drivers can bring the premium down but i take it this could only work at the time you get the policy?, can anyone clear this up.

It's usually only the Admiral group (Admiral, Bell, Diamond, Elephant) that this helps with.

mine came down at kwik fit with my mum on but went up with my dad on

I think you can do it when ever you want, you're basically adding a driver with more experience, so it would take it down.

When i went from my saxo to grande punto i went from TPFT to comprehensive. Got the quote and the price had doubled but i was expecting that. Then asked about adding my parents and it went down by ... wait for it ... £15 :eek:

Was it worth it for me? No. But now they can drive my car comprehensive, so even if its only for them driving it and knowing they're insured properly (not using doc) its worth it.
