Adding parking sensors to car - what is there to consider?

Hi all

I'm thinking of adding rear parking sensors to my car, but as a relatively new car owner (6 months) I want some advice about what to look out for. I understand that insurance companies ask if any modifications have been made to the car, which I'd have to declare. From what I can see, this pushes up the cost of insurance, but also seems to severely limit the number of companies who are prepared to insure.

Is it worth adding sensors to my car, and are there any other pitfalls I haven't thought about?

Many thanks

M.

Hi all, thanks for the response. I wasn't really asking whether I should get the sensors or not (already have some, but they could be returned), what I want to know is if there are any disadvantages to having a 3rd party accessory fitted to my car. I tried MoneySupermarket for insurance and parking sensors were classed as a modification on there, and subsequently raised the cost of, and reduced the number of available quotations.
