Adding shop bought games to steam

I got a second hand Dawn of War 2 disk and have installed it. Its now registered on Steam. Can i reinstall it through Steam now? Or will i need to keep the disk?

You can reinstall through Steam. You should keep the disc though as it will be use to verify your purchase if you ever have problems in the future.
