Adding Slave HDD, wont boot as OS Not Found

Hi there,

I had this 80GB HDD sitting in my cupboard that I had discarded from an old PC as I think it had a few corrupt/bad sectors or something that wouldn't go away after a format or two.

Anyway, it still had a good 60GB+ of useable space as I recall so I decided to chuck it in my current rig as a secondary slave - the pin settings for it are correct and it is on the slave cable. However, when I restart with it attached, I don't get anywhere, just a black screen with "No Operating System Found".

Any ideas?

in bios what is selected as the boot drive?

The drives aren't listed. It goes to my DVD drive then HDD but it's just generic, there's no option to choose which HDD.

it sounds like you've got one of the jumper settings wrong, try changing it to cable select on the new drive

Thanks, never thought of that and it seems to have done the trick!
