Adding text to default server index page.

I have a directory which has a bunch of files in it. I had a while back my own text below all the files, which was a simple html/txt file and the server put it there. So instead of "Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2." it said "My own text". Anyone know how to do that again, i cantg remember ahah
