Im thinking of adding some thunderbolt 3 ports to my pc as I need them for super speed transfers.

my only question is, is my current motherboard actually compatible with it? I have a MSI B450 pro carbon AC and currently have a GTX 1070 graphics card and also planning on getting a 970 Evo nvme drive in the future.

There is another pcie lane, but just not sure if it can have a thunderbolt 3 multiport add on

Only native board that isn't flagship is z390 Designare that have it inbuilt and allows 8k via thunderbolt.

Not sure if x570 boards will have the feature, doubtful but will check if they have THB-C ports on the board

Ah wait, completely forgot. One board they got working was Designare x399..

I think it's down to Gigabytes Add in card having a ROM flash on it

I didn't think it worked with Ryzen/AMD, the PCIE cards will fit but I thought it was Intel only..

Really?
