Hi,

I am wanting to add a USB input into a 2004 Z4. Having a look the current audio setup is:

Business CD (none mp3)
6 CD Changer (none mp3)
10 Speaker
Carver Amp
Parrot 3200LS added on

What options do I have? I don't have an ipod and don't care about ipod functionality, what I really want is playing mp3's from a USB stick. What is the best way around this? I don't want to fit an aftermarket head unit to it as that will look bad.

I think those two linked won't work as it says on the Dension website that it won't work with cars with DSP.

Fox - Absolutely nothing about because standard CD's is sending me crazy! :p

Its going to suck whatever as the Z4 Business CD has a really limited single line display.

You can change the CD changer for one that reads MP3's, mind? Doesnt get you away from the horrible interface though.

Dont know a lot about BMW stereos but would one of these be any good, I have the iPod version in my car and its very good as you can control it from the stereo and you don't lose the CD changer.

Can't remember the name, will search later on, but they do a plug in replacing the cd changer, and you put in your USB pen drive and it will just play that through the car speakers.

It's a bit like DICE, where the cd changer is replaced with your ipod, but instead of a ipod connecting, it's a usb and aux input.

Thats a good point Fox with the CD changer. Do all BMW's share cd changer units?

The Yatour doesn't seem to have a DSP kit available so not sure it will work. What I have found is one called Grom. That has a DSP kit available and the dealer is just down the road.
