Hi

Just wondering if it's possible to add wi-fi value say USB? I don't require internet , it will be there to connect to my dash cam

Thanks

Some cars have a cigarette lighter style plug in the boot. My Golf does. You could just leave a mifi plugged into it. Even without a SIM card it still acts as a wifi router.

If you mean you want your dashcam to be able to connect to your home network so you can transfer the recordings back without removing it, i don't think the MiFi type devices will do what you want - that would be more like adding a WiFi dongle to your dashcam but I doubt that's possible.

You need a dashcam with wifi features built in, you can't do what you want on a non wifi enabled dashcam.

i bought mi-fi to use in the car for when i want to use sat nav and then got a freedom pop sim for free data every month.

the thing runs out of charge quickly and i can never be bothered charging it. whoever installed the radio in my car hooked up the DAB aerial to the cig lighter so whenever that is in use i can't get anough power to my DAB aerial so it doesn't work properly.

i could use my power bank but PITA tbh, ended up just not using it. hopefully in my next car I won't have the same issues.
