Hi there,

I currently have 4GB of Corsair RAM (2 x 2GB TW3X4G1333 C9A) in an HTPC based upon an Asus M4A785TD-M Evo motherboard.

I am running using Mediaportal for this and am currently time shifting to a small laptop hard drive. However, I want to create an 8GB RAM drive dedicated for time shifting and now need a 2x4GB RAM kit for this.

I realise that I should probably get RAM of the same speed and latency (1333 and C9A) but what about the make? Will anything do (within reason) or should I try and get 4GB versions of the Corsair memory above?

Thanks

You can get 12800 memory and run it at 1333MHz 9 9 9 24 @ 1.5V.

Any memory will do within reason as long as the timings and voltage can accomodate your present memory - the XMS3 12800 have a proven track record of running at 1.5V even at 1600MHz.
